The ToyBob Cat, also called a “Toy Bobtail,” is the smallest domestic cat breed in the world, and it is one of the rarest and most expensive cat breeds.  This is a naturally occurring “small” breed, not a tiny variant of a larger breed.

Toybob Cat Personality

This cat breed is famous as a pet because it has a friendly personality and is small and cuddly. The Toybob is warm, funny, and playful. Adorable but willing to curl up on your lap and purr. Snuggled up on a soft pillow or on someone’s lap, the Toybob relishes the opportunity to be pampered and is always happy to accept it. It’s an agile climber, light and nimble on its feet, like any cat.

The Toybob is intelligent and kind and will follow you wherever you go with a little bit of watching curiosity. Toybobs are good pets.

Two Toybobs keep each other company since they don’t like being alone. Although most toybobs are friendly to strangers, some can be reserved with new individuals. Thus socialization is crucial. On the other hand, because it is so calm, it can be scared away by small children and can’t handle rough handling or getting into trouble. In a way, the Toybob is the perfect cat. It has all the qualities cat lovers love: being small, playful, and loving like a kitten.

It is not as hyperactive as some other breeds and rarely meows. They’re docile, playful, and loving. This breed is calm and happy, and it loves attention and plays. This makes it an excellent pet for older people and kids. Toybob kittens and adults are playful.

Toybob Cat History  

Even though the toybob cat is tiny and has a bobbed tail, it wasn’t created by breeding cats with short legs or bobbed tails and small bodies. The breed was developed by genetically mutating cats to achieve the required size and features. Their unique set of genes is not found in any other cat species and has given them traits that are not common in their environment.

The first toy bobcats were created in 1988 by breeder Elena Krasnichenkos of the Russian Thai Bobtail Cattery. The genotype of this breed is unknown despite its distinctive characteristics. Because the species is still experimental, its history isn’t long enough to determine if its genes are dominant or recessive.

 Toybob Cat Behavior  

Toybob has all the features a companion cat should have. Toybobs thrive in groups, and Toybob is “the little cat with the great heart.” Intelligent, good-natured, affectionate, and social, the Toybob gets along well with other animals.

They’re content to silently follow you around and sit in your lap for petting. Toybob is a friendly, lively, and affectionate cat. Toybobs are dedicated to their families yet hesitant around new people.

 They are typically shy around new people for the first few minutes until they get to know them. The Toybobs are great for children to play with because they are small, friendly and cute cat breed. However, very young children could hurt them if they play without supervision.

Toybobs are particularly protective of their human and pet family members. They rush into battles or to help others.

 Toybob’s Characteristics  

 Appearance of Toybob  

As the name suggests, the Toybob is a miniature cat with an unusually tiny build and bobbed tail. The breed is roughly the same size as a six-month-old domestic cat when fully grown.  

 Toybob Coat  

The coat is softer and longer than that of the short-coated breed. The coat’s texture might change depending on the color. To give it a thicker, plusher appearance, the topcoat is thicker and longer-haired than the undercoat. Over the cat’s body, the coat has a medium to heavy ruff, and the ear and toe tufts are clearly evident. The ideal tail plume is complete, and no tufts on the ears.

Toybob Cat Color  

The color of their coats is another thing that all cats of the same breed have in common. The Toybob standard lets these cats have all possible coat colors and patterns. The fact that they interbred with domestic cats is not surprising.

Toybob Cat Hypoallergenic

No cat breed has been proven to be scientifically hypoallergenic, but based on anecdotal evidence, some may be less likely to aggravate allergies. Toybob Cat is Hypoallergenic because this cat breed shed less and produce less of the allergenic Fel d 1 protein.

Unique Physical Characteristics  

Head: Shape is a medium-sized modified wedge with rounded edges and a flat plane above the eyebrows.  There is a tendency for males to develop jowls.  

Ears: Medium-sized, high on the head, about one ear width apart, and wide at the bottom.  

Big Eyes: The Toybob’s sweet-faced look comes from the way he looks, with his big eyes.  

Eye Color: Eye color has traditionally been linked to coat color.  

Profile: Slightly rounded, with a dip from the forehead to the nose at the middle of the eyes.  

Feet and Legs: The square shape of the middle is matched by solid and medium-length legs.  

The feet are round, and the toes on the back legs are long.  

Toybob Cat Health Issues 

 Toybobs have a robust immune system and are generally healthy cats. Its origins are often attributed to the harsh climate. This breed’s good health is further ensured by using indigenous Russian cats in its development. In terms of health or genetic disease, the species is perfect and has a long lifespan. Still, you shouldn’t forget to take your pet to the vet yearly. A Toybob will live for about 15 years on average. It is also essential to be aware that the Toybob can be susceptible to gingivitis and tartar buildup if it is not correctly cared for.  

Care of Toybob

Taking care of a Toybob isn’t too hard. The Toybob doesn’t have to eat anything special, but like most cat breeds, it needs good cat food to be happy and healthy.  

Grooming  

The shorthair version has a soft coat that is easy to take care of. Just brush it once or twice a week. The Toybob with longhair has a coat about half an inch long, does not mat or tangle, and is easy to care for. Like the Shorthair, a Toybob must be combed once or twice weekly to stay in good shape. Both kinds don’t shed much, so Toybob cats are hypoallergenic, but their coats change with the seasons.   

Nutrition  

To keep Toybobs healthy, their diet needs to be well-balanced. It’s incredible how much power these tiny organisms use, given their size. An adult Toybob needs to be fed often, and natural or commercial dry or canned cat food can be provided. When selecting food, ensure that it is of high quality and fits all of the nutritional requirements of the Toybob.

If given natural foods, Toybob’s diet should comprise mainly lean meat. Porridge, fermented dairy, eggs, and veggies can all be used to spice up your pet’s diet. Keeping an eye on the cat’s weight is also crucial because it might impact its overall health and well-being. For the Toybob, like with all other breeds, clean, fresh water is a need.
